About Cotswold Motoring Museum

Cotswold Motoring Museum is owned and run by Boundless by CSMA, which was founded in 1923 as the Civil Service Motoring Association. The museum reflects the motoring history of CSMA Club over more than nine decades, and we’re proud to be caring for something of great historical value and which we also believe makes a really great day out in Gloucestershire.

About Boundless

Boundless has more 90 years’ experience bringing benefits to its 230,000 members, offering people inspiration to make the most of their free time with a fantastic choice of helpful savings, great-value days out, fun-filled events and much needed holiday deals.

Investment

Since 1999, Boundless have invested heavily in Cotswold Motoring Museum. Much of the initial investment was made to repair and improve the museum’s listed buildings, raising health and safety standards and improving facilities for visitors, especially those with disabilities. This investment has also provided opportunities to make the museum commercially sustainable and, in 2006, we completed a new gallery which allowed us to expand our collection to cover motoring in the 1960s and 1970s.

Awards

Cotswold Motoring Museum was awarded 2011 Museum of the Year by Classic Car Weekly magazine, and it has also been voted the top attraction in Bourton-on-the-Water by users of Trip Advisor*.

The Collection

Visiting our collection is like stepping back in time to a gentler world of motoring – to a time when driving was a pastime far removed from the helter-skelter rush from A to B we’re used to today. The museum’s showstoppers include over 40 cars, vintage caravans, classic motorcycles and dozens of bicycles, but what really makes us unique is the huge amount of driving-related material we have on display as well. Showcases packed with motoring paraphernalia, old garage equipment, authentic enamel signs from a bygone age all around the walls, petrol pumps and globes, in fact pretty much everything connected with motoring – even a real AA box.
